This is an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Translation and Localization Project Manager to join Merrill Brink International at their European headquarters in Galway, Ireland on a six month fixed term contract. A recognized leader, Merrill Brink is one of the largest language service providers in the world. Their clients include global companies in the life sciences, legal, financial, IT, heavy machinery and other industries who rely on them every day to deliver cost-effective, high-quality translations. Merrill Brink are a wholly owned subsidiary of Merrill Corporation. This Project Manager will consistently meet or exceed client expectations by providing exceptional service, quality and cost efficiency on every project. The Project Manager develops and maintains relationships by providing superior service and industry, technical and tactical expertise in a client driven production environment while ensuring profitability and growing the business.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Determines complete project specifications and instructions from client including terminology and style preferences.
  • Consults and advises clients on the workflow or job production process, negotiating timelines and process for project deliverables.
  • Is accountable for the client experience with Merrill Brink International, clearly identifying customer goals and expectations and effectively anticipating and addressing client needs and concerns.
  • Ensures that time and costs on each project are managed effectively and monitored closely according to the estimate and negotiated accordingly with the various production resources.
  • Formulates and fosters effective working relationships with clients and Merrill Brink stakeholders to promote and continuously improve the service.
  • Identifies opportunities within strategic accounts globally for short and long-term revenue growth and be required to support client presentations, proposals and meetings.
  • Prepares management information reports and essential data for job invoicing.

The successful candidate will have ideally have 2-5 years’ experience in the Translation / Localization business, with specific experience in managing fast paced, high volume customer accounts from project kick off to delivery.

  • Experience of working with marketing documentation and marketing material is essential for this role, a background in software localisation and medical device would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Strongly focused on quality systems with high attention to detail
  • Commercial, negotiating and financial skills to manage costs and maximize profitability
  • Ability to multi-task in a time sensitive and deadline driven work environment and stay cool under pressure
  • A second language or interest in languages is advantageous especially German, Spanish, French and Italian.
