Medical Editor (Leading Medical Publisher)

We are looking for a Medical Editor with strong project management skills in a variety of project types to join a leading medical publisher to be based from my client’s offices near Chesham, Hertfordshire.

As the Medical Editor you will be part of the Editorial Team and will report to the Editorial Team Leader on a variety of project types utilising your strong project management knowledge. Ensuring the quality and accuracy of materials produced is of the utmost importance and you will also be expected to layout editorial for some projects using InDesign, including redrawing figures/tables as necessary. You will be the in-house Editorial Lead on a variety of MGP project types, which may include email alerts, formulary decision guides, checklists, sponsored articles, supplements & handbooks etc.

Attributes required for the Medical Editor role are:

  • You will be required to liaise with a mixture of authors, clients, business development managers & project executives/managers on a number of occasions.
  • An understanding of project management and different project types.
  • Life science degree (or higher) with an understanding of disease area terminology.
  • 2+ years’ medical communications or publications experience.
  • Excellent proofreading and subediting skills and attention to detail.
  • A confident, articulate and effective communicator (written and verbal).
